Day 6: We Louvred It So Much We Did It Again

On our 124th day in Paris, we began by having breakfast. For breakfast, we sampled several different pastries, which were pleasing to the taste buds. Some had chocolate others didn't. After eating our French-style breakfast, we started our day by traveling to our first site, the L'Orangerie. Although this was a smaller site, it held some extremely important pieces of art. In particular, Monet's Water Lillies. It was a true honor to see these works of art.

Our next stop was a return trip to the Louvre. Just as beautiful as it was the previous time, we explored a whole new wing of the museum. Within this wing there were several outstanding Mesopotamian statues, including some that involved chopping off hands as a form of punishment. We also saw paintings from Dutch masters . All of these art forms combined to  make a wonderful experience of discovering major pieces to our history.

After having a wonderful time at the Louvre, we spent some time outside. This resulted in us walking to a scenic bridge called the Pont Alexandre III. With gorgeous golden statues, this bridge had a wonderful view. Some of the factors that made it so outstanding was the way one could see some of France's popular buildings such as the Invalides.

Once we took our pictures of the bridge, we went to a park where we had a nice relaxing lunch of crepes then headed over to the Grevin Wax Museum.  This was an amazing attraction. With wax sculptures of several different French and American celebrities, this site was not only entertaining but also a little bit scary. Donald Trump was there, where he overpowered the weird Obama wax figure that was just "UG." There were several different sections to this attraction all the way from a TV setting to famous sport figures.

Not only did we see Rodin's work, we met him!

After we finished our tour of the wax museum, we headed to one of France's main shopping locations. Just outside Notre Dame, there were a line of several different tourist shops and food venders. This area was called the Latin Quarter. We spent our time exploring the different shops and seeing what type of unique stuff the venders were selling and stopped for some gelato.

We then headed to dinner at one of the sit down restaurants, also within the Latin Quarter. After a delicious meal, which included  an appetizer, the main course, and dessert, we headed to our final stop of the day.

Our final stop was the Catholic mass within Notre Dame. A truly incredible experience being able to praise the Lord within such a magnificent building. It was also interesting to see just how similar a Catholic mass is in Paris, when compared to a Catholic mass in MN. Although the mass was performed in a different language, it was still a very spiritually moving experience for everyone, and the presence of the Lord was ever prevalent.

After the church service, we took the metro back to our AirBNB. It is here where I am typing to the words "Vincenzo Out." Vincenzo Out.
